A precision paving task

A joint venture between contractors Strabag and Max Bogl used a Vogele Super 1800-2 with AB 500-2 extending screed to pave a new proving ground for Toyota Motor Europe in Zaventem, Belgium.Extremely strict and precise quality standards had to be met for the 51,500m2 project, which included paving slalom courses, a braking test course, an ice course and a bump course. After stabilising the soil with cement, four layers were placed in total - a 300mm crushed stone layer sub-base followed by an 80mm asphaltic concrete base, a 40mm binder course and a 40mm surface course.
