Specialist waterproofing secures Manchester's future in biomedicine

Way back in 2017, the University of Manchester's Paterson Building suffered extensive fire damage. Housing 300 staff, the facility had been the home of extensive collaboration between the university, Cancer Research UK, and the Christie NHS Foundation Trust. Shortly after the fire, management announced plans to not simply rebuild and repair, but to expand. By 2030, the new site is envisioned to be more than twice the size of its former incarnation. The biggest team of medical experts in Europe is coming together to carry out world-leading cancer research.
