Diageo shows its Spirit

It could be enough to turn a senior distribution executive to drink, but Diageo only promotes responsible drinking. The company produces over 40 brands of premium drinks, and has more than 800 individual product lines. With nearly 100 production locations, and around 9,000 employees involved in the global supply of its product range, it is perhaps not surprising that over one billion bottles of spirits are made every year, and 1.5 billion pints of beer. With customers in 200 markets, the Diageo distribution task is complex, and potentially daunting. But that is not the end of it. Diageo purchases substantial volumes of raw materials from suppliers around the world to support its production programme. Bottles, casks, barrels, packaging, crates, labels - again, a wide variety of products, moving country to country from multiple suppliers to multiple Diageo production locations.
