The 1,100km East West Economic Corridor (EWEC) which has been developed between Myanmar and central Vietnam (through Thailand and Laos) over the past eight years has had muted results thus far.rnThe EWEC has access to 260 million inhabitants with a combined gross regional product of USD1.339 billion. It also represents one of the most ambitious road access programmes supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) within the Greater Mekong Sub-Region (GMS members: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietman and Yunnan and Guangxi provinces of China).
