摘要

Methods for the analysis of veterinary drug residues in food of animal origin must fulfil numerous requirements: a high sensitivity and mainly a high selectivity. This selectivity is generally difficult to achieve with classical analytical methods. Therefore analytical procedures are often complex, time consuming and specific to some substances. Moreover, important requirements concerning the performance of analytical methods and interpretation guidelines of results relative to residues analysis in products of animal origin appear now. LC-ESI-MS/MS gives particularly interesting outlooks for this field of activity. This technique can be used as qualitative or semi-quantitative screening test, as a quantitative method or in order to confirm results obtained with classical methods. These three aspects of the LC-ESI-MS/MS uses, their advantages and also their limitations are discussed in regard to their potential for the survey of veterinary drug residues in food.
