TC refuses application after illegal operation of vehicles

The former director of a scaffolding business has had his application for a new O-licence turned down after a traffic commissioner (TC) found he had operated trucks with "insufficient regard for the law and road safety". London and the South East traffic commissioner (TC) Nick Denton also found that sole trader Daniel Lippett, who trades as M&L Elite Scaffolding, had also operated a vehicle while the public inquiry (PI) had been adjourned, despite being warned not to. A PI in Eastbourne in March was told that Lippett claimed an O-licence held by M&L Elite Scaffolding Services, a limited company of which he was a director, would be surrendered if the licence in his name was granted. The TC said it was unclear what authority Lippett had to do this, as he had recently resigned as a director at the company.
