Cash-strapped North Korea may be using the international reinsurance market as a fraudulent new way to get much needed foreign currency according to recent media reports that underline industry concerns. Already famed for counterfeiting US dollars and criminal dealings in weapons and drugs, there is a growing suspicion the regime may be running an elaborate insurance and reinsurance scam on a number of major underwriters around the world that is costing them tens of millions of dollars.
