Atul customer seminar at Kanchipuram

A customer Meet was organized by Atul Ltd. at Kanchipuram on 3rd August 05. The subject of the meet was "Vat dyeing techniques & precautions to ensure correct dyeing". About 45 customers (including owners and technicians) attended this meet. Kanchipuram is a big center for handloom. It is famous for it's silk saris as well as lungis. Set in tranquil natural surroundings, this small town of about 3 lakh people has about 60 cotton processing units. All these units are in the unorganized sector and involved in manual dyeing in hank form. The major classes of dyes used are vat dyes, naphthols, and sulphur. Atul has a market share of almost 80% in this market" for these dye classes. Many of these dyers have been involved in dye-ing activity for generations.
