It is the rare car that becomes part of I the popular culture, and few of them JLare as deeply woven into the fabric of that culture as the DeLorean. Starting with pinup looks that made teenage boys pine for it when new to its later status as the time-travelling star of three Back to the Future films (with all due respect to Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson), the DeLorean DMC-12 became far better known than its brief production run should have warranted.But this was a car with a history that few could match for ambition or drama, and this particular story starts with one man.
