Comparative investigation of selective media for campylobacter

Forty Compylobacter strains (33 strains of C. Jejuni subsp. Jejuni, 6 strains of C. Coli and one strain of C. Lari) were siolated from fecal specimens and used for comparative investigation of 10 selective edia. The best growth of 10 C. jejuni subsp. Jejuni strains was observed when the basal Columbia agar was supplemented with 5 per cent (w/w) Sheep blood and 0.4 per cent (w/w) charcoal. Furthermore, constant concentrations of 21 strains of C.
