ECOTALITY INTRODUCES BLINK EV CHARGING UNITS

ECOtality, Inc., based in San Francisco, California, unveiled its flagship electric vehicle charging station, called Blink, at the 2010 Plug-In Conference held in San Jose, California, in July. The first "smart chargers" to hit the market, the Blink 240 Volt Level 2 charging stations will be available in two models. One is a residential wall mounted unit for home use and the second is a commercial stand alone charger. ECOtality worked with global innovation firm Frog Design to develop each of these units. The designs feature familiar graphic and functional sim-rnplicity. Additionally, the chargers work in conjunction with smart grid systems.
