NEW FORD FOCUS DRIVETRAIN EXPANDS CHOICE OF E85 FLEXIFUEL POWERTRAINS

Ford Motor Company has introduced its advanced high efficiency PowerShift automatic transmission with dual dry clutch technology on its range of European Focus Flexifuel models that are capable of burning up to 85 percent ethanol blended in gasoline (E85). The new Ford Focus models, already being sold to European customers, are equipped with the 1.6 liter Duratec Ti-VCT gasoline engine and the 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission with dual dry clutch technology. It replaces the conventional 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which was available with gasoline engines in the previous Focus model.
