PROTEAN ELECTRIC UNVEILS IN-WHEEL ELECTRIC DRIVE SYSTEM

Protean Electric, a global leader of advanced in-wheel electric drive development headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, unveiled its production in-wheel motor system at a press conference on the exhibition floor of the 2013 Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress held in Detroit, Michigan, in April. The in-wheel drive system is an integral part of a hybrid electric power-train system when paired with a traditional internal combustion engine. It is also powerful enough to be the only source of traction drive in battery electric vehicles.
