Of the 17 food waste trials conducted, Farid waste collection vehicles were used in eight locations. The vehicles in question were the Minimatic and the Micro, both part of the company's "satellite vehicle family". But what made them attractive to the likes of Calderdale, Hackney, Newtonabbey and West Devon? "Both of these vehicles, as with all those in our satellite family, are fully sealed, which is crucial for collecting food waste with its potentially high liquid content," explained sales and marketing director, Kevin Crowder, "while it could also be highly corrosive", meaning safe and secure collection is vital.
