Most of my activities since my last report have been on the domestic front, with internal governance work through attending meetings of the various standing committees. But during this time there have also been a number of other significant engagements. These have included chairing a session at the excellent CIWM Rethinking Reuse conference in London, the report from which has informed CIWM's response to Defra's Application of the Definition of Waste consultation, which seeks to reduce barriers to reuse and repair (more of which on page 40). My congratulations to the initiators, Andrea Pellegram and Eleanor Reeves - two very competent professionals involved in the sector who are also personally very passionate about their environment.
