Actuaciones del Laboratorio de Interoperabilidad Ferroviaria (LIF) del CEDEX en el despliegue Europeo ERTMS

The RIL is the most recently laboratory set up within CEDEX's premises. From the start, it has aimed to support the development of rail transport at both European and Spanish levels. This article describes the role played by CEDEX-RIL in the development of ERTMS, and the close link which, from its inception, has existed between this system and the EMSET project, in which the feasibility of the European Railway interoperability was demonstrated with the participation of the whole European signalling industry. The key factor for the success of this project was the creation of both an independent laboratory and testing sites which, right from the very beginning enjoyed the confidence of the industry, thus allowing for the first time the execution of cross tests between companies. Finally, and equally important, this paper shows the fruitful evolution followed by the laboratory aforementioned, which, from its establishment, has evolved from performing tests on generic ERTMS constituents to undertaking first, remote tests jointly carried out between specific commercial projects with different suppliers on track and on-board; and, second, Handover tests between diverse RBC suppliers.%El Laboratorio de Interoperabilidad Ferroviaria (LIF), es el más reciente de los laboratorios creados dentro del CEDEX. Desde su creación, el principal objetivo del LIF ha sido atender el desarrollo del transporte ferroviario tanto en el marco europeo como en el propio nacional español. Este artículo describe el papel de CEDEX-LIF en el desarrollo de ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System), así como la estrecha vinculación que, desde sus orígenes, ha existido entre este sistema y el proyecto EMSET (Eurocab Madrid-Sevilla European Tests), en el que se demostró la viabilidad de la interoperabilidad ferroviaria europea con la participación de toda la industria de señalización europea. La clave del éxito fue la creación de un laboratorio de ensayo independiente e instalaciones piloto que gozaron desde el principio de la confianza de la industria y permitieron la realización de ensayos cruzados entre compañías. Final e igualmente importante, este artículo expone la fructífera evolución del laboratorio arriba mencionado, que, desde su establecimiento, ha ido evolucionando desde el ensayo de componentes ERTMS genéricos hasta la realización, primero, de ensayos cruzados remotos entre proyectos comerciales específicos con diferentes fabricantes en la parte de vía y embarcada; y, segundo, de ensayos de transferencia del control de trenes entre RBCs (Radio Block Centers) de diferentes compañías (Handover).
