Probabilistic stability analysis for pit slope optimisation at Jwaneng mine, Botswana

摘要

As a result of this study, it was possible to assess the small likelihood of overall failures in the east slope of the pit and the consequential low potential of economic impact from this type of event. In terms of inter-ramp stability, the critical areas of the slope were identified and flagged for further analysis using new data collected during the follow-up process of rock conditions and slope performance. Finally, the key design aspects that need to be re-assessed and upgraded on a regular basis as mining progresses, were identified.
