摘要

The stability of the pit walls at Bald Mountain Mine, Nevada were evaluated. Both deterministic and probabilistic analyses were performed on the slopes, which were found to have a high potential of failure. Even though both methods are useful in slope design, the probabilistic slope stability analysis provides a better indication of the inherent risk of failure.;The feasibility of using rock mass classification systems for rock slope evaluation was also assessed. This study found that these systems can be adapted for use as a field observation method of rock slope analysis.
