Denmark announced in October that it has already reached its goal of having an installed capacity of 200 MW for solar energy, a target it had set for 2020. Residents and companies have been encouraged to install their own solar power generators by a firm called Invest in Denmark, which uses a process called net metering to calculate the amount of energy produced versus the amount used.
