Solar power reaches record year in 2010

The growth of solar power outstripped all other forms of renewable energy in terms of new capacity growth in Europe during 2010, new figures reveal. In total, 13GW more solar installations were built than other clean power technologies, corresponding to the "electricity production of two large coal-fired power plants", according to trade association the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA).
