Deflections and strains were measured statically when various loaded tipper trucks were positioned on the concrete bridge deck. The deflections were collected electronically and showed consistent results. The strains were measured manually and were less consistent. Results showed that when a load of 2 000 kN is placed on the bridge deck, the maximum measured deflection is approximately 2.5 mm. If the load is increased to 6 000 kN (consistent with NC loading) and the measured results are extrapolated, the maximum projected deflection is 7.5 mm, or smaller than 1/1750 of the span.
