Underscreen paper roll cleaners are the most widely ordered option on surface-mount screen printers. Stencil cleanliness is vital to obtaining consistent deposition and high yield. A buildup of material—solder paste, adhesive or flux—on the bottom of the stencil can lead to shorts or bridging, while material that clogs apertures can cause insufficient deposits on the substrate. Stencil cleanliness is particularly critical for the thin stencils with fine apertures and high aspect ratios used in advanced processes, such as ultra-fine-pitch surface mount, adhesive dispensing and wafer bumping.
