摘要

It is well known that trace amount of water has important effects on the physical properties of minerals and melts, Strength and viscosity decrease, diffusion rate and electrical conductivity increase, seismic waves attenuate and liquidus temperaturesare lowered by the addition of water. The effects make water one of the most active components of any geological system with implications for the evolution and dynamics of the earth. The PVT relations of water are its fundamental physical and chemical properties. The P-T stable range of water is limited by melting pressure curve along which the equilibrium among water and various types of ice is attached. Because the physical and chemical properties of water need in-situ measure, experimental measurements of water are more difficult than those of solid materials. The accurate thermodynamics data of water are still limited below 1.0 GPa and 900 °C although water plays an important role in geology.
