China Starts West Pipeline Project

摘要

With a mission to assure the safety of the national energy resource strategy, the west crude and product oil pipeline project has been approved and established by the National Development and Reform Commission,and has been listed as a 2005 national key construction project at present. The west crude and product oil pipeline to be build this time will constitute a strategic west- east oil transmission passage together with China — Kazakstan Crude Oil Pipeline, which will link the oil transmission pipelines in Xinjiang, Gansu Province, east China and the southwest regions with the petrochemical enterprises, and form a oil transmission pipeline network in western China, so as to realize the effective butting joint between the energy resources with market, and promote the development, utilization and optimization allocation of petroleum resources, and ensure the supply of energy resources in the east region. Matching the trunk line of crude and product oil pipeline, two 10-million-ton oil refinery projects in Dushanzi, Xinjiang and Lanzhou, Gansu Province planed by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have been started up.
