摘要

Composite materials have recently been studied for various optical applications. Typically they are constructed by embedding compounds with important optical properties into processable transparent matrix materials. In doing so, technologically important films and fibers can be prepared from materials that traditionally are difficult to process in these forms. This review covers progress in the optical composite area with optical properties ranging from third-order nonlinearity to novel transparent magnetic materials.
