Germany's alternative carrier comes to a sad but inevitable end. Europe's air freight business has had but one conversation in the past month: the future of its increasingly impoverished all-cargo carriers. The list of those carriers in trouble is getting longer by the minute. And as this issue of Cargo Facts was about to go to press, the final nail in the coffin came for the embattled Air Cargo Germany (ACG). Caught between a rock and a hard place, the airline - 49% owned by Russia's Volga Dnepr Group, (and 100% scrutinized in all its activities by rival Lufthansa Cargo) - declared insolvency.
