Atlas Air has started to bring its converted 747-400Fs out of storage tohandle the surge in demand for freighter capacity.One of the four freighter-converted aircraft previously parked by Atlas,a 747-400BCF (24833) was ferried from Marana (MZJ) to Los Angeles(LAX) on April 1, after being stored in MZJ since Jan. 2.The three other 747s Atlas parked were still in storage, as of press time.At MZJ are two 747-400BDSFs (27062 and 27174), parked since Dec.29 and Dec. 24, respectively. Another 747-400BCF (26557) has been atLleida-Alguaire (ILD) in Spain since Feb. 2. Atlas previously said the fouraircraft had been flying charter services but were stored due to soft demand.
