Objectors to A marina on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal at Swindon village are trying to get the site listed as a Conservation Area in their campaign to block the scheme.rnVillagers thought they had won when the plans, drawn up by Halletech Environmental, were withdrawn before they had gone to the planning committee. But they had been withdrawn to be amended on thernadvice of planning officers that the proposed 252-berth marina was too large, and the amount of building would be intrusive in a green belt setting. The plans have now been resubmitted with 226 berths.rnA Halletech spokesman said: "We have taken on board comments by the planning officers and also those of the objectors. We have now resubmitted the plans and so far the feedback from the council and local residents has been positive."
