Stars join fight against marina

Actors And Waterway supporters Timothy West and Prunella Scales have joined the campaign against the proposed Onley Marina on the North Oxford Canal. The celebrity couple turned up to lead a protest at the proposed site which also attracted a number of boats and several dozen protesters. They each read a verse from a poem by locally born poet Rupert Brooke, extolling the beauty of the countryside - which opponents say will be ruined by the 550-berth development. Timothy West said that there needed to be very good reasons for approving such developments in the countryside, which he didn't believe was the case at Onlev.
