We Write As narrowboat owners, who regularly travel the canals around Braunston, about the proposal to build a huge new marina in the countryside at Onley. It is our view (and that of many others) that this proposal should be rejected on the following grounds: There is no requirement for more berths - we understand there are an estimated 250 vacancies in marinas in the area and, clearly, the 108-berth marina at Barby is nowhere near full. The canal is already congested -we understand this stretch has been identified by the CRT as one of the three most congested on the entire canal network.
