Bold target for Wey & Arun

Fresh from celebrating the completion of work to rebuild Southland Lock (pictured) on the restored length of canal near Alfold, Surrey, the Wey & Arun Canal Trust is now planning Its next project to replace a causeway which at present blocks through navigation with a new bridge. However, to do this, it needs to raise £700,000 in total. An appeal has been launched with an initial target of £180,000 by the end of this year, so work can start on Compasses Bridge next April.
