Heritage Heroes' canals revealed

Following the announcement of Heritage Heroes, a link-up between the Canal & River Trust and Help for Heroes (CB, April), three canals to be supported by the initiative have been named. The £500,000 scheme, supported by the People's Postcode Lottery, will help injured servicemen and women to rebuild their lives by working on canal restoration projects. CRT told Canal Boat that there would be projects on two canals under restoration - the Pocklington Canal (pictured) and the Wilts & Berks Canal (the latter being a non-CRT waterway), plus one navigable canal, the Kennet & Avon. Heritage Heroes is to be officially launched later this spring.
