...and looks back 50 years

At the same time as Waterway Recovery Group's volunteers are looking forward to another year of supporting projects across the country (see above), they're also looking back on half a century of canal restoration in WRG's 50th birthday year. WRG was launched at the Inland Waterways Association's National Rally at Guildford in August 1970 as an independent national co-ordinating body and resource of labour, expertise and equipment to support the increasing number of canal restoration projects.
