Margaret Fletcher 1949-2006

Margaret Fletcher's untimely death on May 6th leaves the inland waterways movement the poorer. Born in Workington in 1949, she trained as a nurse and became a senior nursing officer at North Manchester General Hospital while in her twenties. Margaret, with her husband John, first sampled the delights of the inland waterways in 1971. She was totally entranced and so began a passion for and a commitment to them.
