Following flooding in recent months there are fears that the remains of the derelict Keddington Lock could collapse-Most of the original lock chamber structure is missing, and the walls have been replaced in gabions - large wire cages filled with stones - to allow the lock head to continue to fulfil its role as a water control weir for the River Lud. But flood water has washed out many of the gabions and put the head walls at risk of collapse -unless around £50,000 is spent on restoration work.
