Winnipeg's Southwest Transitway

Designing and building a dedicated busway in a congested urban site on a fast-track schedule required innovation on the part of the engineers. The City of Winnipeg engaged Dillon Consulting for the design and construction management of its first rapid transit corridor - the Southwest Transitway. The transitway is a key component of Winnipeg's transportation master plan and consists of a high-speed bus-way that is physically separated from the regular street system. The intent of the project is to increase transit ridership, reduce traffic congestion and support the city's growth.
