Investors are still unsettled by the relentless headline blitz surrounding RBOCs' entry into the video market, especially as Verizon at long last (9/22) unveiled details of its FiOS video service. That was followed by the 9/27 news Verizon had secured its first major-market franchise in Fairfax County, VA. As shown, although our Cable Average is up 2.4% this year, the only stocks with gains are those that have announced plans to go private or (in the case of Mediacom) are suspected of having the potential to follow a similar path.
