Businesses are continually packaging on-strategy words, data, and images for internal and external uses. Thus, for years those who teach in business and professional communication or technical communication programs have diligently worked to train and develop students in learning how to write on-strategy. At the same time, they have experienced an increased expectation and necessity of teaching students to develop on-strategy visual communication. Thus, for several years, instructors have been articulating the need to find better ways of teaching visual communication to students (Brumberger, 2005; Hocks, 2003; Phillips & McQuarrie, 2004).
