Second Leyland privately preserved in Israel

A second restoration project of a privately owned Leyland is well on the way in Israel. Following major body repairs, the ex-government Ha'argaz-bodied 1 966 Royal Tiger Worldmaster was driven 20km from the Ha'argaz workshop in Ramla on 2 November to the Ha'argaz factory in Tel Aviv for repainting. The first privately restored bus in the country, a 1975 Merkavim-bodied Royal Tiger Worldmaster, escorted it. Enthusiasts discovered the 1 966 bus a few years ago at a yard in Petach-Tikva near Tel Aviv, where it had been parked for 15 years. It was in an as withdrawn condition, with only the seats missing. Restoration began a year ago.
