Knowing of his lifelong fascination with all things bus, a German friend whose son works in the Netherlands knew that these bus-shaped jellies would hit a sweet spot with Tony Greaves. Nor would Tony need an intensive language course to understand that Dubbel Dekkers are, well, double-deckers. They taste good and are moulded in an acceptable representation of a traditional British double-decker with open rear platform, even if it is of a layout — second doorway behind the front wheel and a full-width front — more likely to have been at home in Bournemouth than London.
