Bureau Of Land Management-forest Service Draft Programmatic Eis For Geothermal Leasing

On June 13, the Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service released the Draft Programmatic EIS for Geothermal Leasing (PEIS) in the Western United States. The document examines public lands in 11 Western states to determine whether, and under what conditions, they will be made available for future geothermal leasing and development. The draft is on line at http://www. blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/energy/geothermal/geothermal_ nationwide.html. Thirteen public hearings are scheduled in 12 states.
