Two Geothermal Field Trips

Two interesting field trips bookended the 2011 GRC Annual Meeting held in San Diego. The pre-meeting trip featured a visit to the Imperial Valley, one of the most productive geothermal areas in the world. Highlighted were the geology and geothermal resources of the Salton Trough, including the Salton Sea Geothermal Field.
