Baria Serece is a two-berth facility on the Thi Via river near Phu My in Bar Ria, Vung Tau Province, 70 km south east of Ho Chi Minh. The port commenced operations in 1996 and markets itself as "The Deep Water Port of Vietnam." With a minimum draft at the main berths of 12m, increasing to 15.8m with the tide, it is the only port in southern Vietnam able to receive fully laden Handymax and Panamax ships.
