This study was designed to learn what special problems Vietnam veterans may have. The following chapters will report the results of an inquiry into veterans' social and psychological adjustment aimed at assessing the effects of the Vietnam war experience. Two questions will be posed: (1) do Vietnam veterans have more problems than their peers, and (2) if so, can these reasonably be attributed to wartime experience.
