Dick Shadbolt launched his practice in his Reigate dining room. Six years on, it is one of the most successful construction law firms in the country -and he doesn't miss London one bit. When construction specialist dick Shadbolt decided to leave top City law firm McKenna in 1991, his plans were hazy. At 48, he felt too young to retire, so when contacts made through his old firm began to pass him work, he was happy to accept. His caseload increased so much that he took on an assistant, and in 1992 Shadbolt & Co was born.
