Climate change minister Greg Barker has admitted the government's own figures are "out of date" as he responded to Building's revelation that the volume of loft insulation installations could fall more than 90% under the Green Deal. In a posting on a public message board, Barker said the predictions, reported in Building last week, were "already out-of-date". He said the government "will be bringing forward further measures and incentives to support [the Green Deal]." Loft insulation installations will fall 93% and cavity wall installations will fall 70%, according to projections based on data from the energy department. Insulation industry figures met Number 10 advisers last week, a move sources said showed the government's level of concern with the scheme's success.
