The performance gap is a hot debate at the moment and the whole industry needs to start taking responsibility for accurately predicting and ensuring that buildings are built to design and operated in the way they were intended. Making buildings perform better should be seen as construction "normals" and factored into the development costs rather than seen (as they are now) as additional unnecessary costs. The news that Allowable Solutions will form part of the Building Regulations in future changes will do just this.
