Compulsory purchase OK'd

Councillors in Tower Hamlets have approved compulsory purchase plans for the Robin Hood Gardens estate.According to the council, 19 homeowners have sold their properties and 26 remain. Negotiations are taking place with the remaining landowners.The council said the move would "help to focus" parties on reaching an agreement and that compulsory purchase would be used as a "final resort".
