Your October 2009 article, "Air Barrier Systems," does not present convincing or compelling support for the concept. The fundamental concerns are the energy cost impact of air leakage and first cost in new buildings. Yet, no measured data presented from new buildings with and without air barriers demonstrates either the energy cost savings or first costs.
