Paul Crowther provides interpretations of key con-ncepts in Kant’s Critique of Aesthetic Judgment, indicating n(particularly in very informative footnotes) how his nviews compare with those of other Kant commenta-ntors such as Paul Guyer, Rachel Zuckert, Béatrice nLonguenesse, Henry Allison, Donald Crawford, Robert nWicks, and others. One might be inclined to ask nwhether yet another interpretation of Kant’s third cri-ntique was needed, yet compared to his other two cri-ntiques, Kant’s Critique of Judgment can still be regarded nas the neglected sibling. Its relevance to his system as a nwhole, and in particular to his moral theory, is still nunder-appreciated. However, if one is after a study of nKant’s third critique along these lines, this is not the nplace to fnd it. Crowther has his philosopher of art hat nfrmly in place in the writing of this study. Even so, nadopting this approach, Crowther shows us that there nis still work to be done. Crowther takes the core of nKant’s thesis and argues that its implications extend nfar beyond what Kant could have envisaged.University of Adelaide
